Steve's Folk Radio Show
What's a Steve's Folk Radio Show anyway? We subscribe to Pete Seeger's definition of folk music: it's music for folks. We play music that children of the '60s and '70s love, but we also go backwards in time to play their influences, and forward in time to play those whom they've influenced. We love to play live cuts, obscure covers, b-sides, deep album tracks and alternate versions of the songs we love. If it's folk, rock, folk-rock, psychedelia, country-rock, pub-rock, baroque rock, or you-name-it rock, with an emphasis on lyrically-intensive songs, you've come to the right place on the left side of the dial. Each new show sports a new theme. And while we play a wide variety of songs, we do pay special attention to the '60s and early '70s. And as a free bonus to our first 330 million listeners, we always provide fun and interesting backstories and trivia about the songs, bands, albums and eras. Check out our playlists, then give us a couple weeks. You'll be hooked! It's folk-y, with a rockin' beat!
